- CCISD Seeks Community Leaders for School Health Advisory Council
Corrigan-Camden ISD is seeking dedicated parents and community members to serve on the mandatory School Health Advisory Council (SHAC). The SHAC plays a vital role in ensuring CCISD’s health and wellness policies reflect local community values.The Law Requires a Parent Majority: Texas law mandates that the majority of SHAC members must be parents of CCISD students who are not employed by the district. We especially encourage non-employee parents to apply!
What the SHAC Does:
- Reviews and makes recommendations on Health Education curriculum.
- Reviews and advises on the District Wellness Policy (including school lunches and physical activity).
- Recommends strategies for mental health and suicide prevention programs.
- Meets a minimum of four times per school year.
