COVID-19 Information

Posted Date: 08/04/2020

Parents and Staff,

Corrigan ISD has been notified that a student has recently tested positive for COVID-19.

Although schools have been closed since March 6th, we have had students participating in extracurricular workouts since June. The C-CHS student participated in a fall sports team meeting on Thursday, July 30th. The student was wearing a face mask, and practiced social distancing. The meeting was held outdoors at Bulldog stadium.  The meeting lasted less than 15 minutes.  The student was tested on July 31st and notified of the positive test result on August 2nd.

The local health department has been contacted.  Based on conversation with the health department and  the information that we have gathered, it is unlikely that the student posed an exposure risk to C-CISD staff, students or families. Out of an abundance of caution, we advise all district employees, students and families to continue to monitor their own health, follow the CDC guidelines and contact a physician if symptoms appear.

Corrigan-Camden ISD will continue to encourage employee and student health screenings, facility sanitation efforts and social distancing during summer activities. Most importantly, our thoughts and concerns remain with this student and we wish them a speedy recovery.

Sincerely,

Richard A. Cooper
Superintendent
