Drug Free Talk

J.P. Heath (Youth Prevention Coordinator) from The Coalition - (Coming Together for a Better Community) came today to talk with our 6th-grade students during their P.E. class about staying drug and tobacco-free.

Mr. Heath will come a few times a week for 6 weeks to discuss the dangers of tobacco while also teaching our 6th graders skills that can be used for refusing drugs and alcohol. Other topics that will be covered during this time are peer-pressure, self-esteem, and assertive refusal skills. We are excited to have Mr. Heath here at the Jr. High and hope he will be able to have discussions with our 7th and 8th graders in the future as well.
