C-CISD School Board of Trustees voted to approve a substantial pay raise for all employees. According to Superintendent Richard Cooper, “All employees will receive a raise. We would not have been able to give this raise without the mandate and additional money from House Bill 3. HB 3 mandated that 30% of funds had to be spent on employee raises. We spent every penny we could without putting the district in a financial bind”.
All C-CISD teachers, counselors and nurses with less than 5 years experience will receive a raise of $3,255. All teachers, counselors, and nurses with 5 or more years experience will receive a raise of $4,400. This applies to employees returning for the 2019-2020 school year who completed the 2018-2019 school year as a teacher, counselor or nurse in Texas. Raises are prorated for additional days in the contract.
Food Service, Bus Driver, Campus Aides and Secretaries will receive a raise of $1500 prorated for additional days of work.
Campus Custodians, District Maintenance and Transportation workers will receive a $1.00 per hour pay raise. Part-time workers will also receive a $1.00 per hour raise.
District level Directors will receive the equivalent to a teacher raise of $4,400 prorated for additional days.
Superintendent Cooper stated, “The goal of any compensation program is to attract and retain the highest quality people you can. With the work of my predecessors who developed the compensation plan before me and the raises we were able to give this year, we feel that our salaries are competitive with surrounding districts”.
Superintendent Cooper added, “ We want to thank the Board of Trustees for their continued support of all C-CISD employees in approving this compensation plan. Our Board truly cares”.
